Anxiety Treatment for Women

Rebecca Klasfeld, LCSW Anxiety Treatment for Women Boca Raton FLAAre You a Woman Who Feels Overwhelmed With Worry?

Do you feel as though you can never slow your racing thoughts? Are you frequently worried about everything, from whether you locked your front door to an impending major catastrophe? Maybe you can’t stop thinking about how others view you, and you fear judgment and disapproval. Or perhaps you feel like you belong and often feel out of place and alone, even when surrounded by friends, family members, and coworkers. Do you struggle with self-approval and worry that something about you is wrong? Do you wish you could discover self-acceptance and calm your anxious mind?

Living with persistent anxiety can be an isolating and exhausting experience. Life might feel like a burden to get through instead of a gift to cherish. You may be experiencing stomach aches or butterflies, heart palpitations, chest tightness, sweating, body tension and/or dread of a future event that you think you won’t be able to handle. Perhaps you can’t sleep or find yourself plagued by distressing dreams. You might wake up with a seemingly endless to-do list already running through your head. Maybe you feel weighed down under all the pressure of nonstop responsibilities and fear that nothing will go right.

Many Women Struggle With Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most common issues that people face, and it is also one of the most treatable. For many people, anxiety is born in the brain and changes the way nerve cells transmit information. There are many different types of anxiety, such as panic disorder, agoraphobia (fear of leaving the house), social anxiety and generalized anxiety. No matter what you are experiencing, thinking or feeling, you are not alone or “wrong.”

Everyone faces worries at certain points in their lives, especially during times of transition or in stressful situations. However, when worry and fear become all consuming and interrupt your ability to enjoy your life, it may be time to seek help. An experienced therapist can offer you the support and skills you need to retrain your brain and begin to live with freedom and optimism again.

Anxiety Treatment Can Help You Find Relief

If you are tired of feeling held back by worry and fear, anxiety treatment can help you begin to make positive changes in your life. In sessions, I can help you identify, explore and address negative thoughts – the thoughts that tell you something bad will happen and that you won’t be able to handle it. You can begin to see how these thoughts are interrupting your life and making it difficult to function with ease. Once you are able to challenge these thoughts and recognize that they are untrue, you can shift your perspective, adopt more positive and realistic thought patterns and navigate a path toward change.

In anxiety therapy sessions, I will utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help you learn to reprocess anxious thoughts and sensations so that you can manage them more effectively. You can develop relaxation techniques and mindfulness skills to find peace and calm in tense moments. While all of us experience anxiety sometimes, therapy can help you feel more intuitive, confident and capable of handling life’s stresses.

I am a solution-oriented therapist. I will encourage you to picture what your life could look like without anxiety and then help you pursue that ideal life. There are so many opportunities, experiences and pleasures waiting for you. Sometimes, anxiety can feel like another person standing in front of you, blocking your way forward and convincing you that you can’t succeed. Anxiety treatment can help you kick that disruptive person out of the room.

I have struggled with anxiety in my own life, and I know how painful it can be. But, I know that you can come through it and stop letting it block your happiness. Overcoming anxiety is incredibly liberating and freeing. With help, you can enjoy greater self-acceptance, satisfaction, peace and a whole new way of experiencing life.

Stress and anxiety go hand-in-hand. However, I invite you to consider what a life free from heightened anxiety would look and feel like. Coming into therapy is the first step toward freeing yourself from the weight of anxiety and cultivating happiness. The time that you dedicate to therapy can not only help you now, but is also an investment in the rest of your life. Also, anxiety makes it more difficult for many people to use time productively, without being distracted by invasive worry. The tools and techniques you develop can help you relieve all of that stress and begin to enjoy how you spend your time.
